Purpose and independence
Tovelpolarbuddis provides general educational information about polar science, climate research and wildlife conservation. It does not conduct research on your behalf, provide expedition services or offer individualized scientific, legal or safety advice. References to research institutions and other organizations do not imply sponsorship, partnership or endorsement.
Not operational guidance
Do not use these pages to assess the safety of sea ice, plan a route, approach wildlife, navigate a vessel or make emergency decisions. Polar environments can change rapidly. Consult relevant authorities, current local information and appropriately qualified professionals for operational decisions.
The explanations are not live monitoring products. Research, datasets and scientific assessments can be revised. Check original sources, publication dates, dataset versions, uncertainty statements and applicable guidance before relying on a specific claim.
Accuracy and availability
We aim for clear and accurate explanations but do not guarantee that every page is complete, error-free or continuously available. Simplified examples omit detail. Photographs and conceptual diagrams are illustrative unless their captions explicitly identify a documented measurement.

External websites are independently controlled. Their content, availability, terms and privacy practices may change. A link is provided for context and further investigation, not as a guarantee of every statement or service on the destination site.
Copyright and other rights in cited papers, datasets, photographs, logos and third-party materials remain with their respective rights holders. A citation or link does not grant permission to reproduce that material. Reuse must comply with the relevant license or applicable legal exception.
